The most fun assignment I had at SCAD in Mia's "Concept for Game Design" class:

"Take both Little Sister and Big Daddy from the "Bioshock" series and translate them into another existing game franchise AND ART STYLE that is NOT A 1ST PERSON SHOOTER." I thought of what the most fun/interesting game to translate to would be. The moment I thought of "Pokemon", I was hooked.

THOUGHT PROCESS:
Now THIS was the hardest part of the assignment. I did 100 doodles with the most known big daddy, but he just did not translate well into the Pokemon universe. However, when I remembered we could use EITHER of the Big Daddys from the games, the most RECENT Big Daddy from Bioshock 2 translated ALOT better.

Just putting a drill on his hand was too "Bioshock" looking, so I wanted to do whatever I could to make it so that the drill served the same purpose, but in a different position.

Once I thought about it and wrote the "Poke'Dex and Type" entry, the concept REALLY came together alot better. Then it was just making things function as DIFFERENT things as opposed to what they did currently. And once my friend explained to me how the Big Daddy's lights changed depending on how alert it was of your presence, the gems came into effect and really tied this all together. Easily had the most fun doing this since it really was a deconstruction/reconstruction of a existing concept into a more happy/kid friendly universe.
